Writing under a pseudonym

I’m writing under a pseudonym for the first time! My new book DEAR JOHN is coming out on January 31st, 2024, and - for the first time - it’s a straight out horror/thriller.

Now, because of this, Amazon will be confused. It will be like, “Hey! You write dark romance and stuff, so why are you skipping into a new genre?! Who are you? I don’t know who to sell you to anymore!”

And then, my pocketbook will say, “…Well, shit.”

So! My new book will be under the name: Nicholas Ferrante!

To be honest, I’m trying to be very transparent about it. I want everyone to know that this book comes from me, but I’m also afraid of backlash. I chose a male name, and I’m worried that people will be mad about that. I chose if for reasons that make complete sense to me, and it actually gives me the giggles.

  • Because my name is spelled weird, people often call me Nicholas by mistake. Feels right to own it.

  • Ferrante is a family name on my Italian side. Being as loud as I am, I’ve always vibed with that crowd, so again, it feels good to own it and be a part of that family history.

But people on the internet are scary and can get mad for wild reasons! If you guys are here and see this post, just remember that I’m just a little me hanging out on this big rock we call Earth. I’m totally not worth getting mad about.
